COVID-19 Benefit Resources

The following COVID-19 services are covered at 100% as preventive services through the end of the federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) for COVID-19, which expires at the end of the day on May 11, 2023. Beginning May 12, 2023, these services will be covered at the regular benefit level, both in-network and out-of-network:

  • FDA-approved COVID-19 diagnostic testing, including items and services related to the testing and the associated provider visit (which may be in a doctor’s office, through MDLIVE or teledoc/ telehealth services, urgent care or in an emergency room), and
  • Administration of COVID-19 vaccinations.



MDLIVE (U.S. Medical Plan)
MDLIVE virtual visits allow U.S. BCBS medical plan members to consult a doctor for non-emergency situations by phone, mobile app or online video anytime, anywhere.

vHealth by Aetna International (Preferred Telemedicine Service for Expat Medical Plan through June 15, 2020)
Aetna International has graciously offered vHealth telemedicine services to our U.S. Expat Medical Plan members at no cost to you through June 15, 2020. This service is similar to Teladoc but with no copay/coinsurance (temporarily) and accessible from anywhere in the world. Similar to Teladoc, vHealth can also issue prescriptions for some conditions.


CARES Act COVID-19 Distribution (CPChem 401(k) Plan)
401(k) Plan participants now have access to a new distribution option if you have been impacted by the coronavirus.
